Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, has celebrated the 184 Birthday of Shri Ramakrishna and Annual festival, from 6 March to 8 March, 2019, with due solemnity and spiritual fervor. The three-day long program was arranged with cultural performances, spiritual discourses and ritualistic worship.
On 6 March 2019, the day began with Ramayana songs. Cultural programs like recitations, songs, and dances were performed by the children students of our High School. Public Meeting in connection with the Prize Giving Ceremony of the school was held in the evening. Revered Swami Ameyanandaji Maharaj gave the benedictory address; the Secretary presided over the meeting. It was followed by distribution of prizes. After evening prayer Drama ‘Devatar Gras’ was performed by the students of the school.
On the second day, program started at noon with Padavali Kirtan. In the afternoon, Sitar-recital was performed. Thereafter, Geeti Alekhya titled ‘the Childhood of Sri Ramakrishna’ was staged. And finally devotional songs were performed by reputed artistes of Bangladesh namely Sri Indramohan Rajbanshi, Sri Subir Nandi and Sri Bijan Mistri.
Thakur’s Tithi Puja day, 8 March 2019,the morning session was featured by Mangalarati, Prayer, Usha Kirtan, Special Puja, Homa, Devotional songs, Reading from the Scriptures etc. Maha Prasad was distributed (Nara Narayan Seva) at noon. In the afternoon a cultural program was presented by the children. The Public meeting on ‘Universal Ideal of Sri Ramakrishna’ was held at the evening. Revered Swami Ameyanandaji Maharaj gave the benedictory address. The Secretary presided over the meeting while Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Hon’ble Information Minister of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Around 15000 (Fifteen Thousand) people in total were served with cooked prasad during the three days.
